As reported on Seeking Alpha 07 Jan. Pfizer announced that it is giving up on discovering new drugs for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. The cut back will result in 300 layoffs over the next several months. This was done to allow them to focus on the areas where their scientific expertise is strongest.

Reducing competition could be good for us down the road.
