I think I understand the concept well enough, but I want to make sure I'm 100% clear. Analogies are useful tools for taking something that's incredibly complex and comparing it with something else that is easily understood. That's what I'm trying to do with my blog.....Epigenetics in general and BET Inhibition are heavy science, at least to me...and I assume to others. I'm no genius, I think my understanding of science is pretty mainstream....pretty average.
I would equate Pan versus Selective Inhibition with painting a car perhaps. Using a Pan process to paint the car would involve using a spray gun, getting paint in the engine and on the windows and gumming up the works in general. Selective inhibition by contrast I would see as using a fine paint brush, only painting those parts of the car that need painting.
Sound about right?
Or maybe using a machete to weed out the garden instead of a small shovel and hoe. Is this accurate? Or does anyone have any other ideas?
