JQ1 can cross the blood brain barrier (BBB). However, I do not know for sure if apabetalone crosses the BBB to directly elicit effects in the brain, or if its effects on the brain are indirect (i.e. attenuation of circulating inflammatory factors, increase in liver-derived circulating apoAI/HDL, etc). Possibly both.
