Hartland,
The discussion of a CVR deal came in the context of the August 28th news release entitled: RESVERLOGIX ANNOUNCES EXTENSION OF MATURITY DATE OF LOAN AND EXPRESSION OF INTEREST REGARDING STRATEGIC TRANSACTION. Recall, in that news release there was the statement "The Company also announces that it has received a letter of intent regarding a significant potential regional licensing arrangement (the "License") for apabetalone (RVX-208), and/or a significant equity investment in the Company."
The CVR deal discussion actually wasn't only a discussion about a potential CVR for Resverlogix. That was only one of several topics being discussed as what that letter of intent might mean. There were educational discussions of what a CVR deal is and isn't, examples CVR deals, discussion of regional licensing deals and how the may or may not be similar to the Hepalink deal, discussion what kind of deals may require shareholder approval, discussion of what the trigger(s) for any deal may be (i.e futility analysis, etc), discussion of the recent changes to the timing of the futility analysis and how this may play into a deal contigent on the futililty analysis trigger, discussion of how the FDA approval to include US patients in BETonMACE may play into any deal, etc etc.
Therefore, based upon the news release and letter of intent, it is completely appropriate to discuss the above topics that included but were not limited to a CVR.
