Why do I think warrants are a better deal?

This discussion raged on here for a while when the warrants first started trading, and initially I was not convinced they were the better option....I thought it made more sense to buy shares.

I figured why pay 50 cents (or whatever) for a warrant and then have to pony up another 2.05 per if/when the warrants went into the money....shares (like now) were trading around $1.30 or so, so $1.30 sounded better to me than $2.05 + the cost of the warrant.

After much discussion on here I changed my mind....I'd never bought warrants before, but I have bought options.  And realzing that the warrants were very much like call options, it made a lot of sense.

There are still a lot of risks here....risk of failure on the science side, risk of securing financing....risk that if financing is achieved that it could be very dilutive and detrimental to shareholders.

So let's say you buy 1,000 shares at $1.30.....your're out $1,300  1,000 warrants at 50 cents cost less than 1/2 that amount, just $500....

I am of the opinion that Apabetalone has the potential to be a multi billion dollar drug.....if the science succeeds and assuming dilution is kept to a minimum I could see RVX trading for $10, $15....possibly even $20+ per share.  If the dream becomes reality I would have the option of simply selling the warrants themselves, (same as selling call options) or of excercising the right to convert them at $2.05....and I'm almost certain that if things work out I'll simply sell them.

Others may want to chime in.....this is old ground.
