Message: Warrants a worse bet than shares since June 29th

Just comparing RVX versus RVX.WT from June 29th forward....so far shares are outperforming the warrants.  They're both down, but the warrants are down more.

RVX.WT hit a high of $0.90 cents on June 29th and closed at 79 cents that day....today they closed at $0.50 cents for a drop of 40 cents off the 90 cent high and a drop of 29 cents cents off the closing price of June 29th.  That's a 44% drop off the high and a 32% drop off the closing price.

RVX hit a high of $1.54 on June 29th, and closed at $1.45...compared with today's closing price of $1.30 that's a 16% drop of June 29th's high and a 10% drop off yesterday's closing price.

That seems to confirm what the globe&mail article was saying about both bigger upside and downside potential with warrants.

Thanks to fourmm for inspiring me to do some research into warrants....before today I'd never bought any.  I own or have owned Mutt funds, stocks, bonds, ETFs, options....but never warrants. I can now even see the rationale and logic behind selling shares to buy warrants....Its not something I'm going to engage in however, because (as fourmm noted) selling shares should result in increased supply and thus a lower share price.....Whether its shares or warrants it obviously helps to have the PPS go up so I'll keep the shares in my tight hands....but as things stand I'll be buying warrants when adding.
