Message: The sword of Damocles....

Just got back from the fireworks....and hoping for some fireworks here, but I don't see it.....not until the financing question has been taken care of and publicly disclosed.

Of course it seems to me that in fact it may already have been resolved, and that we could simply be waiting on disclosure and the details.

We've got BETonMACE that looks to be full steam ahead, an upcoming CKD trial....another for Fabry disease.  There's all kind of other indications out there where Apabetalone may have application as well, PNH, MD, Alzheimers, Thrombosis...maybe bi-polar and other mental health conditions.  There may be arterial components to a whole slew of diseases we haven't considered yet.

But money makes the world go round, and science is expensive....and Resverlogix needs to solve this issue or they ain't gonna be driving the Apabetalone car at Pharma's Indy 500 or any other race.

Fear Uncertainty and Doubt, the famed triumverate called FUD for short, is not unwarranted given the numbers involved.

Before the end of August the company has to come up with almost $70 million to satisfy the Citibank Loan....but that in of itself isn't enough.  They'll need enough cash to fund operations for at least another year. imo...and two would be better. Assuming they can maintain a $2 million p/mth burn rate 2 years of cash means another $48 million....so to keep the math simple the company needs to raise somewhere in the neighbourhood of $120 million CDN the way I see things to remove that sword referenced in the title of this post.

I've heard DM many times talk about his success in securing financing/investment for the company....having raised somewhere in the range of $300 million over the last 10 years or so.  Now my best guess is he needs to come up with $120 million more, and he's only got about a month or so to do it....10 years to raise $300 million, less than 2 months to raise $120...that's a tall order.  I have no doubt that some shareholders bailed out in the wake of the short attack on RVX when the PPS collapsed from over $2 to less than $1.25

I myself consider it to be a strong possibility that the financing issue has already been resolved, and that now we're just waiting on the details.  To me that would explain why they skipped the Paris presentation and switched the Power Point slides after the San Diego event.

Happy 150th Canada....I've lived to see both the 100th and now the 150th.....if Apabetalone makes it onto the market maybe I'll be around to celebrate the 200th.
