I have real estate on the brain lately, so I'll use that analogy.
There's a house that went on the market in my area about 4 months back, they were asking $379K originally....but after 3 months it hadn't sold. Then they dropped the price to $279K, and I was thinking of it as an investment maybe so I asked my agent to book a viewing. She came back to me saying they were receiving multiple offers...so I figured it would be gone. But the next day I was told that the seller hadn't gotten the price he wanted. Apparently the $279 asking price was simply a ploy to try and attract interest in hopes of generating a bidding war that would get an offer of at least $350K.
So that's the price the minimum price they're willing to sell at, $350K....first they tried asking $20K over their minimum, then they tried to entice a bidding war by asking $70 K less than their minimum. But now its been on the market for 5+ months and still hasn't sold and people are probably wondering: "What's wrong with that house"?
What does that have to do with the situation here? Maybe nothing, maybe everything.
Apparently DM was in some discussions back when the PPS was much higher...and some have suggested he pooched the deal somehow, by saying too much perhaps. I know back in 2015 (April I believe) I read an article in (again off memory) bloomberg or some such publication with DM saying he'd been contacted by multiple players regarding possible M&A activity: Here, I found the article:
That was in April of 2015 when the PPS was in and around $2.85 and DM said:
“We see ourselves as a potential acquisition target,” McCaffrey said. “We are tightly controlled, so we wouldn’t let it go at anywhere near the rates we’re at right now.”
Wrapping this up with my house analogy....I viewed that property, and I would say in today's market its worth somewhere in and around $300K.....but its apparent the sellers aren't willing to budge of that $350K figure....and that's fine, its their choice.
Could it be that a BP player has come in and was willing to pay a reasonable price in today's market? Now the listing that is RVX has gone stale maybe? I recall SanFran saying sometime ago, like a year or two back....that he spoke with a friend or acquaintance in the BP space who said that if Resverlogix was worth anything it would have already been taken out...
Just some mindless musings on what looks to be yet another slow market day for RVX.
