I'm coming more and more to the opinion that something big is being worked on, and by that I mean a buyout of the company or companies....in whole or in part.  As has been pointed out....the cancelling of the AGM, the failure to deliver on a licensing/partnership deal in 2016 as stated by DM several times....and now the cancelation of the Paris presentation.

To me that all speaks of the company working on something large in scope....But if those of us with these suspcions are correct, that doesn't mean a deal gets finalized....the devil is always in the details.  It might be as has been suggested, a Mexican standoff.

In one corner we have Resverlogix and their lead compound Apabetalone....that pretty much everyone acknowledges has multi-billion dollar potential.  Diabetes, CKD, Alzheimers, Thrombosis, MD, Degenerative Retinal Diseases.....given all the indications I'm almost starting to think of it as Aspirin for goodness sake.....a drug that even otherwise healthy people could take possibly.  If (big if obviously) if it works....What's it worth?  $10 billion?  $20?  $50?

Great...so we have a car with the potential to win the Indy 500 or the Formula One racing crown.  But there's not enough money in the bank to pay for the gas to even get us to the starting line, let alone to pay the pit crew and for tire changes.

And then we have big Pharma with their billions upon billions....and maybe they're willing to buy at least Apabetalone.  But putting speculataion into overdrive, I think it could be that DM and the powers that be, that they see even 2 or 3 billion USD as being too low.  But if we know the company is in a cash crunch, then BP knows it too......in real estate you sometimes hear of "distressed sellers".  Perhaps BP sees Resverlogix as being a distressed seller.

And then we have the Eastern/Hepa ownership further complicating matters.....August is fast approaching and as I understand it if the company defaults on the loan, the all KD has to do is pull out his change purse, toss out what for him is some nickels and dimes....and then he basically gets everything....Apabetalone and pretty much all of the company's intellectual property.

What I have read about Mr Dart....its that he doesn't just want to win, he wants to destroy his opponents.  Mind you the article where I read that, it was dated....so maybe he's mellowed, but somehow given what I know (which isn't a lot) I don't think so.  He uprooted himself from the US and renounced his citizenship to avoid paying any taxes at all from what I understand.

I think DM might be wise to take a low ball offer.....because imo the alternative could end up being Dart walking away with the whole enchillada.

Just some random thoughts and opinions....not advice obviously.
