Now that makes some sense, I probably wasn't alone in wondering about Pfizer filing a patent application for Apabetalone, now with your post things are much clearer. 

As for SanFran's musings about Resverlogix holding the proverbial trump card....I dunno about that.  

In once corner we have Pfizer, a company with a Market Cap of close to $200 Billion US dollars with billions of cash on its balance sheet.  And in the opposing corner we have Resverlogix.  "ResverWhat"???  Resverlogix, a tiny Canadian firm based in Calgary weighing in with a Market Cap of a little over $200 million, uhm... that's $200 million Canadian....with a balance sheet that has, uhm....well, they have a balance sheet.  

Now these two are negotiating....if you're Pfizer are you going to pay big bucks to a company that seems to be basically broke? Or are you gonna be like Homer Simpson buying Ned Flanders' Bible for 7 cents.
