I said I would leave others to draw whatever conclusions they wish....if any.  I will toss in my thoughts, but no conclusions....just some differing and, in my opinion, valid perspectives.

Having the number climb is good.  Why?  It means that the borrowing and selling of shares increased the supply of shares available on the market....and as anyone who's taken Economics 101 knows....that all things being equal when the available supply of any commodity increases it has a negative impact on the PPS.  Were it not for this activity the PPS would be higher than what it is now.

Having the number climb is bad.  Why?  It means there are market participants out there who view RVX as being overvalued, and they're seeking to profit from their opinion by borrowing shares and dumping them back into the market.

The only thing that makes shorting a stock like RVX puzzling to me is the tiny numbers.....Between the 15th and 31st of January shorts added a net 30,100 to their overall cumulative short position.  The highest RVX traded at between those dates was $2.39....so even if all 30,100 were sold for $2.39 and today closed at $1.87....that's a difference of .52 cents...so if all 30,100 that were borrowed and sold between the 15th and 31st....if all 30,100 were sold at $2.39 and were all bought back at today's closing price of $1.87 then the profit would be about $15,652 less fees.  Not bad coin I guess if they're able to cover them off in a a matter of a couple weeks or even a month or two.

There is no point crying about short selling....its part of the game....to me it would be like an American League baseball team whining about the DH rule.  Like or it lump it its part of the market reality....and I myself don't have an issue with it, it provides for a more orderly market and increases liquidity, so I see it as a net positive.
