FWIW the only stocks I'm able to short are S&P TSX300 stocks....the only way I have ever played the short side is through the purchase of put options.

FWIW.....you have thousands of shares in your margin account, okay. But they're held "in street name". Do you know if they have a certificate # attached to them?
