Ok lets first do a tiny bit of basic DD. HL's market cap is about 22B CNY which is about 3.4B USD not a bad sized company but no PFE at 194B USD, MRK at 167B USD or even AZN at 76B USD. Secondly HL's earnings were about 84 milion USD last year of which the bulk was derived from the manufacture, their strength, and wholesale (not retail sale) of Heparin Sodium API to many sellers around the world. Again respectable numbers but probably not capable of putting up the upfront numbers that DM would want after a successful BetOnMace for global Apabetalone rights or to buy the company outright. Additionally they don't look, on first glance, of having the infrastructure of a western BP with which to effectively sell retail into the major global markets. Obviously they figure they can successfully sell into their own regional market and that's why they have purchased the right to do so and probably have obtained those rights and their equity position at what will look like at a bargain price if BetOnMace is successful.

Regarding my previous post which was about Eastern, I really don't see them and HL as natural partners, but that is JMO, as I think Eastern's motivation is likely to maximize ROI where HL's is obviously the manufacture and sale of Apabetalone in their aquired market. Further if Eastern and HL wanted to take a run at RVX together I think they would have already done so when it was cheap and shareholders were extremely frustrated. I can only speak for myself but I am an increasingly happier shareholder and every month it seems that the chances of success are getting better. I have been in and out of this for about 10 years now and my average cost is a few fold cheaper than Easterns or HL's and I also have 10's of thousands of shares of Zenith none of which will be for sale anywhere near these prices. I know holders out there with many times my holdings who feel the same so I think now taking a run at RVX would be a very difficult task to do close to cheaply. Of course any of us could be wrong but that is the way I see it.

Mazola I agree that Eastern stepped in and saved RVX and further to that I have heard DM say it when he talked about how the science was what attracted Eastern to RVX and that Eastern found RVX not the other way around. Who knows perhaps it was at one of those "wasteful" conferences that a few here like to moan about.
