Message: Short interest climbs again....

The climbing PPS, up to September 15th at least....it doesn't seem that it was caused in whole or in any part due to short covering. The new number up to Sept 15th is 71,200 as per stockwatch. That's an increase of 17,400 over the previous period.

I was anxiously awaiting the update, and I honestly expected to see the number whittled down to near zero. That's about where it was up to 05/31 when short interest was reported at a mere 1,500 shares.

Back then, on May 31st, the PPS was trading in and around $1.25 - $1.30.....and in the weeks and months to follow the PPS was pretty much stuck at that level....between $1.10 and $1.35 or therabouts. Up until September 14th that is....when we started taking off.

If those 71,200 shares were shorted at an average of say....$1.30 per....and assuming they stil haven't been covered, then that means at shorts (or short if there is just one) are out around $30,000 to $35,000....that would be my best guess...assuming they're forced to buy at $1.75...if the PPS keeps climbing and the borrowed shares aren't bought back, then that number climbs.

Anyway.....I was actually thinking that if short interest went back to zero or close...that's what I was expecting. So much for unmet expectations...short interest actually climbed.

Could it be that there just aren't enough shares to meet buy side demand? So MMs or whoever, perhaps they're more or less forced into borrowing some to meet the demand?

Exciting times.....now back to you're regularily scheduled worrying.
