Message: Zacks SCR Report 7/29/16

I noticed some info in the Zacks report regarding the atorvastatin (Lipitor) and rosuvastatin (Crestor) doses in BETonMACE that I've never seen before. Recall, that the statin doses allowed in SUSTAIN/ASSURE were 10mg, 20mg, or 40 mg for atorvastatin and 5mg, 10mg, or 20 mg for rosuvastatin. As summarized on page 10 (Exhibit VIII) of the Zacks report, we are reminded of the apparent synergy of RVX-208 + rosuvastatin on the change in PAV from the IVUS analysis. It seemed that the plaque volume reduction was greater with the higher doses of rosuvastatin. What caught my eye in the Zacks report was this statement regarding statins in BETonMACE: "Standard of care high potency statin therapy shall consist of daily dose of either atorvastatin 40- 80 mg or rosuvastatin 20-40 mg." To the best of my knowledge, previous RVX-208 trials did not include the 80mg atorvastatin or 40mg rosuvastatin doses. Could the synergy be even greater with 40 mg rosuvastatin combined with RVX-208 in BETonMACE.........?
