What is the point of these hedge funds industry types doing this, ?

When we have really good news, ie Orphan indication trial announcement , more financial analyst reports from a major institution or bank, FDA phase 3 approval , Zenith financing/partnership , we will get a huge spike in volume and share price,

It would seems logical for industry types to buy shares at that point, Hard to accumulate a large position of shares say 100,000 or 200,000 for a hedge fund or instiutuon when we get 10,000 to 20,000 shares a day
