I remember someone touting ESPR on SH when it was up around $115....to me it looked like a hype job, and I hadn't looked at it again until today.
Comparing RVX and ESPR is a bit of an apples and oranges excercise given that RVX has been publicly traded since May of 2004 while ESPR has only been public since June of 2013....A little over 2 years in other words. Leveling the playing field it looks like they do have similarites however, if you compare their respective share prices over the first few 2-3 years trading for each.
RVX went public at a little over $2.00 per share in May of 2004.....and by Feb of 2007 it was trading over $25...that's better than a 1,000% gain, a 10 bagger as traders like to say. I'm sure at that time that RVX shareholders were as pleased with management as ESPR holders are now....or at least as pleased as they 'were' when ESPR was trading over $100 as opposed to the current $75ish before their market cap got hammered half a billion bucks lower.
ESPR started trading in July of 2013 around $14 and by Mach of this year had gotten up over $110 for similar percentage gains (a bit less than RVX) in a similar (although a bit shorter) time frame.
People get excited, and newer public companies don't have the baggage that older issues do....How will ESPR shareholders react if/when the inevitable bumps in the road occur?
