SF, let's assume for the moment that beyond the likes of Dart and Hepa...that there are other interested parties, ones who are likewise extremely well heeled, although probably not as deep pocketed as the likes of KD. And while we're assuming, let's also assume that these other wealthy investors, that they haven't yet been able to build up a position of the size they wish.

Just for the sake of argument we'll say that there are just two very well heeled investors who want to build a position in RVX numbering 100,000 shares....or in dollar terms a little over $200,000 CDN at current prices. We'll further assume that they believe (like many here) that RVX has the potential to be valued at $10+....turning a $200K investment into more than $1 million.

So....what are our assumed investors to do? Over the past 20 trading sessions we've only had 2 days where volume exceeded 100K. Our hypothetical investors would both be looking to add more shares than typically trade during an entire single of trading. So what are they to do?

One option would be to simply bid up the price and snap up whatever is on offer. But are there 100 or 200K shares that currently have limit orders on them? How much of the order book is simply MM's quoting because they're required to? And how quickly might those shares being offered vanish if the PPS all of a sudden starts flying due to indiscrimnate buying? And further....if the PPS starting taking off might others start storming into the stock, competing with our well heeled imaginary buyers for a limited number of shares. As the PPS climbs the potential profits become smaller and smaller.

I think a big part of the reason the PPS is at its current level is because of a lack of liquidity, because imo most are holding out for the big payday. If the company all of a sudden starts making announcements that spur demand....but there's no supply?

I think I'll know how you and others will likely respond SF...."let it fly". But I would counter that part of the function of MMs is to ensure an orderly market, and an orderly market requires both buyers and sellers.
