Message: Chinese Perspective

Sometimes people, particularly on SH, have made posts suggesting that the Shenzhen Hepalink was not a big deal because, as these posts implied, the Chinese are communist and a backwards culture.

I certainly disagree with this completely. While the government is still essentially communist China is a rapidly changing capitalist nation particularly with the integration of Hong Kong. In fact in a few years the Chinese economy will surpass the USA economy and become the world's leading economy.

They are also a strong science culture. As a small example a friend of my son has completed his masters degree in biochemistry. He has published 2 papers from his masters thesis on strategies for targeted drug delivery using nano-particles. The second paper was just published and has had 800 hits from university professors and grad students and of the 800 downloads almost 700 are from Chinese universities. So they are very keen on building their knowledge economies.

My sense, and it is pure speculation, is that the Hepalink deal could become very big and RVX and Zenith could both end up in Chinese ownership.

IMHO there is no way that RVX will remain a Canadian based company. Our policies don't support the development of Canadian start-ups unfortunately.

Just a bit of early Monday speculation.

Wishing everyone a good week.

Cheers

Toinv :)
