Shenzhen Hepalink is a 17 year old multi-billion $ China based pharma. I haven't done much research on them but I think their portfolio is thin. In 2014 they bought Scientific Protein Laboratories so they seem to be branching out their capabilities. This is also reflected in their 13% position in Resverlogix to be approved on June 30th.

Perhaps their position in RVX is just testing the waters. It seems to me that the combination of RVX and Zenith would dramatically expand their development capabilities into cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, various cancers and Alzheimer's disease. This would give them a big kick up.

It would also give them an advantage in the field of epigenetics which is one of most promising areas in clinical development.

Just speculating. Now it's time for a few beers at the lake.
