Cry me a river Alberta. Ontario has carried the ROC before and after oil was discovered in Leduc. The first place in North America where oil was discovered was in Oil Springs Ontario. Over the past century and a half Ontario helped to develop Alberta...so cry me a river you bunch of blue eyed shieks. It was Ontario labour and engineerring expertise that also helped develop it. And it is not out of the pocket of each and every Albertan that the Transfer payments to the Feds are made. It is from the rich oil companies...and how many of the bigs are Albertan? Mostly tax on the majors coming from foreign investment pays the Trasfer payments.
Now...let's get on with the task at hand. Maybe some well intentioned letters to Quebec Parliament would make a better point instead of crying the blues to each other over those eastern bastards. Been there done it...got my jar of "Tarsand" and fond memories of the patch...but never could get over that insulence and arogence of Alberta...so we picked up our stakes and headed back east like a good flatlander.
No disrespect intended to any person on this board. Just tired of the small stuff.
Let's get real and start a letter campaign to the Quebec gov't about missed opportunities.
