I don't know if any of you have been following the shale gas thing in France...frankly I don't know what to believe from the papers on opposition, as they only focus like they did here on the extremists that don't want it, which represent very few and not the entire population. Anyway, this was an article that came out today:

I know there is going to be more debate there, but clearly shows that you can't deny shale. The pros far outweight the cons (cons that only pop up from bad drilling practices). Right now you are seeing China and India actively pursuing their shale gas and want to tap in as soon as they can to meet their growing demand.

In the study it says Canada and the US has drastically reduced their demand on foreign imports because of it.

Anyway, kind of caught me off gaurd because the government seemed 50-50 on it, or even leaning toward no (until environmental studies are done), but the government is in an election next year and seems there is a lot of politics being played there.
