Jinxer, solid post. You bring to attention things that I personally really overlooked. Such as the equipment issue. Does seem a bit odd that a company who has drilled many many of these wells in the past (and has a ton of experience) failed to get something that is a staple in drilling equipment.
Let's not take anything away from Talisman though. Sure they are just starting with unconventional plays and much later than other companies, but they did some right things. If you go to this NR for last June:

They acquired a partner that has had a lot of success in helping companies with emerging and early shale plays...maybe not the greatest shale expert, but certainly better than Talisman. So kudos to them for taking that initiative and bringing them on.
Jinxer makes a good point, who wants it more. At least with the investment Talisman has made and being that they are hungry to build there business up again after selling non-core assets, we'll see some real hardwork and determination to do this to their upmost capability. Honestly, I'm no accusing Forest of anything, but to throw off results on purpose would be pure shade on their part. Boy did they talk highly of Quebec last year, especially in their presentation "the new frontier program"...but this was when oil and gas where to the sky...and when they dropped, the may have changed their outlook on how they were going to play this one.
Anywho, some great points my Jinxer. I will listen to the broadcast tomorrow and put up the link after!
