I was listening to Mr Binnion speak about Quebec at yesterday conference and he mentioned that the Gentilly rate of 800mcf/d for 18 days. Well that well actually produced that for 30 days he said. There was no decline. That is actually a big deal because most of the time companies run 30day tests to determine decline curves etc...so to see it put out a full 30 day test at that rate is excellent. Also, important that he mentions the learning curve is most important. That over time drilling techniques are mastered for the specific play which in turn convert to reduced drilling costs for a full production phase. Mentioned also how having 3 majors there now is big because we'll be getting lots of drilling and it'll make for quicker deductions on play geology and drilling etc. He said a good 20 wells need to be drilled before getting a baseline of what an average well will do...but with our 2 partners, we'll easily see that this year.
One last thing he mentioned was that the company (qec) believe that it isn't about if it's commercial, but whether how commercial.
Anywho, it was good to give a listen and pick up a few new things.
