Acerage value...

I was reading some other pages on it...and if you go to this site

http://forums.cnylandcoalition.org/v...

I copied and pasted the passage:

However the Shell-Duvernay and BP-Chesapeake transactions highlight the enormous value that is created by converting a potential shale gas field into a producing field. Currently the Utica Basin shale sector is capitalised at US$11.5 billion, or roughly $1,700 per acre, due to the field's early stage of development. Although Forest Oil has proven the Utica Basin's commercial production potential (two wells flowing more than one million cubic feet per day), commercial production of gas is unlikely for the next 12-18 months. Once commercial production commences, we would expect Utica Basin shale gas acreage values to increase.

At $1700/acre, we'd be at $3+ right now...just goes to show you where we are right now...I would suggest if you have some time to read the entire page and see some of those values for acerages.
