What a day...TSX up almost 1700pts, now we'll finish at around 900pts..still a good day.
Today was a mixed day really. I think there were a some day traders in as well. Well it's certainly seems obvious that we're trading along side the tsx today. It's disappointing because with today's amazing news, we should be a lot higher...but what can you do...on the plus side, we did move up, but we're potentially sitting on something huge here with the Liard shales. Early results are substantial and quite encouraging. I don't know too much about the Liard shale, but being that it's up there in a region close to where there are huge gas discoveries being made and companies generating huge cash flow...goes to show we could possibly have found something big. Well I guess I shouldn't say that, as we are already producing from a couple wells there, but the fracing technology is really putting up some good numbers and allowing the gas to flow. Of course it could take some time to truly get the drilling right, but seriously initial results of 10mmcf/d with a small frac is pretty big. Does anyone know more about this well that they might have read somewhere else or on any other boards?
Do they plan on doing any horizontals?? Anywho, who knows what the recovery may be, but hearing that it could be 1tcf a sq mile (total 30 sq miles) is unreal. The company is really showing some great numbers and now with Quebec results coming in soon, we have many many triggers. Just about proving up the plays, and we're well on our way.
I don't know if any majors with considering a takeover of qec at all, but what I know is that if with today's results, really makes it a sweet buy. Of course they'll have to keep drilling the Liard shales, but other companies looking in have to be pleased to see the results and great diversity in the company portfolio. We'll see where things go coming up, but lots of results coming in soon....a shame the markets are where they are...but our main objective is staying on track, proving up the gas and so far I'm pleased. Today's news took me by surprise that it was that early, and even more so with the numbers they are showing.
If anyone has any idea of where they plan to drill next or the spacing etc etc, could you let us know. I'll send Jason an email too. Thanks.
Rocco:)
