To clarify, UBS's target for the tsx for next year end 2009 is 13500...so not to bad considering everything we went through...and supposidily Scotia and other banks are putting similar targets. UBS's initial target for the end of 2009 before this financial crisis was 16500 for the tsx...but taking into account a recession, a 3500pt increase from where we are today is pretty good....and then probably increasing higher after that as the markets start to sort themselves and these mortgages and other toxic assets start to get cleansed out of the system.

Anyone have anything to add on the economy etc??

ps TSX til this date has fallen 33%, and only two other times has it done that, in the 30's, and in '87...so we are close to bottom I believe, but the mechanisms we have to restimulate the economy are greater and I would think the governments have learned from those times to take the right action this time around.
