That's exactly what they're trying to do IMHO. Scare off investors and buy as many shares as low as they can. They're not doing the same with the other Jr's in the play because they know how big QEC is and the land that QEC has is in the sweet spot of the LowLands in Quebec which makes it about $ 1.05 more on the NYMEX. Don't worry though because as Rocco and many others have said these prices will seem like fire sale prices in the near future. Get in and stay in while you can and wait for the next announcement followed by some upside again.
