Well I am going to post something about the tax loss selling.....it could be stupid...but I thought I would just shares my thoughts about it because I talked to a broker friend of ours.
He said that most of the time, the stocks that get hit the hardest during tax loss selling are those that are trading at a 50% discount from the 52 week highs and the ones that are the fundamentally strongest.
He said that because there is a rule, that if you sell of a loss to show on your income, you have to wait 30 days before repurchasing....I guess so ppl don't just cheat the government by selling and then buying right after...I think we are seeing a lot now and early, so people can give themselves an early 30 day cushion to be able to buy back reports on the Nahanni in January and our other properties.
Sorry if this is all old news to you, just thought I'd put my two cents in:)!
Rocco:)
