Molycorp, Inc. (NYSE:MCP), the Western Hemispheres only producer of rare earth elements, announced today that Chief Executive Officer Mark Smith and Chief Financial Officer James Allen will present at the 2nd Annual Wedbush Clean Technology & Industrial Growth Conference. The Molycorp presentation will be held on Tuesday, September 14th at 11:45 a.m. Pacific Time in the Empire Room of the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, and will be webcast live.

Rare earths are chemical elements that are crucial to the operation of many clean tech, communications, defense, and other applications. The world is currently dependent upon China for more than 97 percent of all rare earths. China recently tightened its 2010 rare earth export quotas to allow for approximately 30,000 tons of exports. Rest of world demand for 2010 is expected to be approximately 50,000 tons.
