Puma Exploration: 113 g/t Ag, 3.3% Zn, 3.8% Pb, and 0.27 g/t Au Over 11 Metres in the Centre of the Shaft Lens

RIMOUSKI, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 8, 2008) - Puma Exploration (TSX VENTURE:PUM) has just received the results from ten (10) holes in the planned 17,000-metre campaign at its Nicholas-Denys property in New-Brunswick. Since the beginning of 2008, four (4) drills have been working in the area where the Hache and Shaft lenses are located, with the objective of confirming an inferred resource of 3,000,000 tonnes in the vicinity of the Shaft and Hache lenses.

Of the ten (10) holes drilled, eight (8) followed the mineralization in the Shaft lens, which has grades of 64 g/t Ag, 4.5% Zn, and 2.3% Pb, down to a vertical depth of 500 metres. All these holes intersected metal-rich mineralization over significant thicknesses, as demonstrated by the intersection of 11 metres of 113 g/t Ag, 3.3% Zn, and 3.8% Pb at a depth of 200 metres. Two (2) holes were halted prematurely because of technical problems.

These holes at the Shaft lens will enable location of the zones with the richest metal values, and will significantly increase the project's mineral resources, The Shaft lens has so far been followed for about 150 metres laterally and down to a vertical depth of 500 metres, corresponding to the deepest hole on the lens.

"We are very much encouraged by these first results from drilling on the Shaft lens. By way of comparison, the 800,000-tonne mineral resource calculated for the Hache lens was outlined over a length of 100 metres and to a depth of 125 metres. At Shaft, the holes tell us that the mineralization extends to a depth of 500 metres. The next step is to confirm the continuity of the mineralization between the two lenses." notes Andre Proulx, the Company's President.

Current Program

Two drills are used in the definition of further resources in direct extensions of the Hache lens over an additional length of 200 metres, which represents about three times the current surface area. Two other drills are engaged in exploring the ground between the Shaft and Hache lenses, down to a vertical depth of 450 metres. This drilling will determine whether there is a single mineralized zone some 650 metres in length.

Regarding Puma

The Company has an exploration budget of about $3.5 million for the year 2008. The funds were obtained from the recent $4.5-million financing, and will mainly be applied to the Nicholas-Denys (New Brunswick) and Little Stull Lake (Manitoba) projects.

The samples were analyzed at the ALS Chemex laboratory in Val d'Or using the atomic absorption and ICP methods. The contents of this press release were prepared by Geologist Marcel Robillard, a Qualified Person as defined in NI 43-101.
