SLAM drilling at Silverjack

Drilling to test historic silver grades ranging up to 1565.14 g/tonne.

MIRAMICHI, NB, Dec. 7 /CNW/ - SLAM Exploration Ltd. (TSX-V:SXL) ("SLAM") has launched a drilling program to test its high grade silver-copper-lead-zinc Silverjack deposit in northern New Brunswick. The program is designed to test Silverjack west zone discovered by Dome Mines Limited in 1960. As SLAM reported by press release 13 November 2009, Dome drilled intercepts grading up to 1565.14 g/t (45.65 oz/ton) silver, 3.75% copper, 14.97% zinc and 11.01% lead over 0.91 m within an interval that averaged 669.66 g/t (19.42 oz/ton) silver, 3.23% copper, 14.25% zinc and 11.32% lead over 2.8 m. This high grade zone is open along strike and at depth. SLAM plans a 1,000 metre program of 7 to 10 holes designed to test the deposit at the 50 metre level.

A preliminary trenching program to test silver, base metal and REE targets is near completion. Twelve trenches were dug near the west zone and along strike with 32 mineralized samples shipped for silver and base metal assay. The program indicates that the mineralized formations hosting the Silverjack zone extend at least 1600 metres to the southwest with lead-zinc mineralization in similar rock formations.

SLAM also dug a number of test pits near an occurrence of rare earth elements (REE's) previously documented by provincial (NBDNRE) geologists (SLAM press release 05 October 2009). These test pits uncovered altered volcanic breccia similar to that described in NBDNRE files. Twelve samples are being shipped for multi-element analysis.

The Silverjack property comprises 3 Silverjack claims under option plus 57 wholly owned mineral claims for a total of 1023 hectares in the Mitchell area adjacent to SLAM's large Nash Creek property and 12 kilometres southwest of the Belledune smelter and seaport.
