Tibber,

Glad to see another homebrewer here- even if your brewing days are in the past. Even though you didn't meet the competition deadline, I'd hope to bring enough to go around.

I just started brewing a year and a half ago, when my kids gave me a kit for my birthday/father's day. I'm not sure what that says about their opinion of their old man. I'm still a novice compared to the guys in the club (one guy just brewed his 400th batch), but I manage to make some quite drinkable stuff. No medals yet- but a couple wins in an informal contest run by one of the members. He's the one w/ three refrigerators dedicated to beer- one has bottles, and two are filled w/ six each of the soda-type tall metal kegs, hooked up to six taps on the outside of each fridge. As far as mishaps, I've only had one exploder so far, and that was just a 12 ouncer. I can imagine what 50 liters of red wine would do...
