KG, agree
However, I think for stocks like Nortel many of us lost out on the incredible rise initially. The same for stocks like Ballard, which never made sense (take electric energy, convert to hydrogen, store, revert back to electric energy at less than 20% efficiency).
I wonder how we better can catch the ride of such stocks and then sell before the dirt hits. I don't know about RIM, but I clearly also lost that ride.
I made good $$ on a solar stock last year and sold close to peak, only fluke but it made me think how to catch early risers. What is next and which company to gamble on.
Right now I don't know, wind has all sort of political/environmental issues, solar is flat. In my PF I am betting mainly on big ones(Barrick, Kinross, Agrium, Cameco) and hope that KXL also will be big as it used to be.
Any ideas and suggestions on catching the next big ride?
