Yes, I agree with the 4 stooges idea. They are all guilty of playing party politics (or fiddling) while Rome (or Canada) burns around them. I also agree that Harper is the main stooge since he precipitated this issue with his unnecessary attack on the opposition parties. And this inspite of his earlier stated intention of wanting a more "participatory" atmosphere in the Commons. I guess by "participatory" he meant having them participate and agree to whatever he wanted.
Did he really think that the opposition would roll over an play dead when he attacked them? Sort of like, " well okay Steve, now that you put it that way, I guess we'll just lie down and let you steam-roller over us."
Also, the last time I checked, Canada was a democracy. In a democracy, majority rules. Because of his untimely attack on the opposition, Harper no longer has a majority in the House of Commons. That normally means a change in government and a hand-over of power to those who have a majority, in this case the Liberals and the NDP with the support of the Bloc. Again, did Harper really think he could cut the feet out from under the opposition and have them agree to the amputation? This is the kind of thinking that makes him the leader of the four stooges.
