Is it not strange that City Slicker firends of mine ( 3 in the last two months ) want to have a space on my farm, when " times " get tough and their usual guest rooms, not the haybarn. And farming is, regretfully, only my secondary occupation.

When I bought a farm, some 25 years ago, I had my ancestors in mind. " Land is forever and god does not make it anymore ". They did not calculate war into that sentiment. Although I did try to convince my wife on the grounds, that when times get rough we have water, meat, firewood, manure and therfore vegetables.

It sounds and looks like that the chickens come home to roost.
