Well folks the time has come I'm off tomorrow morning to investigate a magnetic anomalie in Northern Ontario. I've wanted to check this place out for 9 years. It's a 3 hour drive northwest of Sudbury and another 1.5 hour drive down a logging road. I've entered all of the GPS coordinates.
Once I reach the coordinates on the logging road its a 9km hike through true wilderness to the anomalie. The area in particular was extensively magged by helicopters in the mid to late 90's by several exploration companies looking for diamonds. One of which was CanaBrava Diamonds.Nothing was ever found. No detailed geological report has ever been done on the surrounding townships.
Although I'm not looking for a kimberlite pipes and diamonds it's nice to know the area I'm in has potential. This trip I hope to get a few grab samples to send out for analysis and soil samples. If I happen to find something fantastic claims will be staked immediately. A 9km trail through thick wilderness could take a few days so I may be limited on this trip as to what I can accomplish but I have alloted five days.
Will take lots of pics to anyone thats interested. I am looking forward to this trip as the fishing will be excellent and the evenings spent by campfire having a few beers with my father. Wish me luck and may ArcBasin be listed on the TSX.V one day.
