Goose..depends on the number of shares I have..I try to buy in lots of 10,000 shares....that gives me enough to have a position and add and subtract as the occasions arrise..

And it depends on the stock..I may start trimming above 2X top share buy price ..but not always..a stock like KXL is a long time accumulate and hold...have never sold a share...

I held WTN for over 3 years and sold it all at 2 X top SP cost..

Over 11,000 shares..at $10.05..

WTN today is trading at $7.70...and has never hit the $10.00 mark since I sold it..so one needs to to know the market..the company..the trading share price spikes and falls ,so many variables ..there is no set rules..

I held 10,000 EXS for a year..bought at .34...

Sold half 5,000 shares at .80...It is now trading at .57 ..but had hit .80+ many times since I sold the first lot..

But I still have 5k shares left..

Am in no danger of loosing money but will wait to see what else they hit..

So you see there are no rules..just market ,company, commodities,and investment knowledge and a little luck..
