I figure the hard slump in solar stocks is the general market pulldown - from more subprime bad news coming out, plus the US stop to all solar on BLM lands. I didn't put much in, so it's a loss of a few hundred dollars. But it got my attention!
Everyone I talk to agrees - Nanosolar is the 500-pound gorilla in the room. Their cost of production is way below anyone else's. If they issue stock, they will send everyone else down, and they will dominate capitalization.
However, they don't need cash and show no signs of giving an IPO.
In the meanwhile, there is a great shortage of polysilicon - 100% growth projected for next two years, but only 30% more production expected. So TIM and WFR look good.
