I just saw some information about Gold Source Mines (GXS) and a diamond property that they have in Saskatchewan. Thinking that it was up in the boonies, I decided to look it up. Turns out it is in farm country near Prince Albert.
Compare the logistical situations of KXL's Hercules property and the numerous companies around McFaulds Lake. Hercules was relatively unexplored because of overburden, but it is just off the Trans Canada highway.
Back to the GXS situation. So what about exploration potential underneath other areas within Canada that are underneath privately held land? I leave out Alberta because it has had the crap drilled out of it. But what about southern and eastern Ontario? Is there gold under all the topsoil and crops (overburden)?
We tend to associate mineral exploration with those out of the way places in the rocks and the trees and the muskeg. Could there be a Hemlo right under Toronto?
I know that historically there have been smaller mines located in Eastern Ontario, but they were discovered due to rock outcrops. Does anybody do airborne geophysical surveys in the settled areas of our country?
