Creating shareholder wealth by advancing gold projects through the exploration and mine development cycle.
It is funny, I have never invested in an ag related stock. Everything I read says to invest in areas you know about, but I think farmers have such a skeptical streak in them about farming it is tough to be bullish. The run up in POT has a lot to do with grain prices obviously. I think grain will trend lower over the the next few months barring major weather problems. Good prices rarely last for 2 yrs inthis buisness, and you are lucky when you even get one yr! I don't think prices will be back to the bad ole days of a couple yrs ago, but I think they will be lower. POT is selling a lot to Asia etc I know, I just don't know how theit demand will change with prices.
I played the ag sector by buying Encana a while back (nov). Nitrogen fertilizer is made of nat gas, Encana is a big gas producer. Nat gas had been low and due for a turnaround and I felt the extra demand for N, which gives farmers their biggest bang for the buck, would help support nat gas and ECA in the normally slower time of spring. Looking at the chart, any time POT came back to it's 200 day MA was a time to buy, or on breakouts from bases, which was about 2 wks and 20 dollars ago.
