For those that think that M is smoking electric lettuce and speaking in tounges ..he is not..

A favicon is a graphic image (icon) associated with a particular Web page and/or Web site. Many recent user agents (such as graphical browsers and newsreaders) display them as a visual reminder of the Web site identity in the address bar or in tabs.

You see them(Little pictures or symbols) all the time down the left hand side of your bookmarks..or favourites..depending which operating system you are running..

A microsoft combination of Favourites and icons..

hence..favicons..
