This Shields property was to new to me. And wow, directly east of the fabulous Premier Gold property at Hardrock.

Yes, it is directly east, but not as next door as you might think. There is 7 kilometres of separation between them. A small distance, but certainly not next door.

From the KXL news release:

Geologic mapping and systematic geochemical sampling have identified six gold mineralized veins on Kodiak's Shields property located directly east of Premier Gold's Hardrock project.

I am quibbling over wording, so I digress. But lets ride some coat-tails!

This area near Eldee Road has been stripped in the last 15 years. Results were less than favourable since nothing happened. However, this Shields property appears to be along a new logging road - so maybe some excitement.
