KODIAK DRILLS HIGH-GRADE GOLD AT WEST GERALDTON AND BRENBAR, RESUMES DELINEATION DRILLING AT HERCULES

Kodiak Exploration Ltd. has provided its first drill results from its regional exploration program in the Beardmore-Geraldton gold camp in western Ontario. Kodiak's 2009 summer regional exploration program was designed with two specific objectives: first, to further delineate the strike and depth extents of the known zones of high-grade mineralization on the Golden Mile and related vein structures at the Hercules project; and second, to identify new high-grade gold prospects on other Kodiak projects in the Beardmore-Geraldton gold camp that will augment and enhance the company's Golden Mile discovery. The results to date confirm that the Beardmore-Geraldton gold camp has the potential to yield multiple new gold discoveries analogous to the largest and most productive gold districts in Canada.

Drilling at the West Geraldton project, approximately 10 kilometres west of the town of Geraldton, has intersected gold mineralization grading 82.5 grams per tonne gold (2.4 ounces per ton) over 2.1 metres, including 208.8 g/t gold (6.1 ounces per ton) over 0.8 metre in drill hole WG09-18. The target area lies on the Portage shear, a regional structure that extends westerly from the main Geraldton district where Premier Gold Mines has reported encouraging drill results from its Hardrock joint venture with Roxmark Mines Ltd. Kodiak began exploring West Geraldton last year, and previous results include channel sample WG-04 (0.8 metre grading 31 g/t gold (0.90 ounce per ton)) and drill hole WG08-06 (1.4 metres grading 12.4 g/t gold (0.36 ounce per ton)). Detailed structural mapping of the project area and geologic modelling led to the discovery of this new, very-high-grade area. Geologically, the Portage shear hosts gold mineralization similar to that seen at the Little Long Lac mine and parts of the Hardrock mine in the main Geraldton district, site of over three million ounces of recorded gold production. The success of initial drilling at the Portage shear target validates the company's regional exploration model and continues to expand the resource potential of its land holdings in the Beardmore-Geraldton gold camp. Additional exploration and drilling are planned to follow up this important drill intercept.

At the Brenbar project, located approximately 13 kilometres southwest of the Golden Mile, recent drilling intersected high-grade gold mineralization associated with another large district-scale shear zone: drill hole BB09-01 intersected 1.7 metres grading 10.35 g/t gold (0.30 ounce per ton) including 0.5 metre grading 32 g/t gold (0.93 ounce per ton). Additional drilling will begin shortly. The proximity of this high-grade gold zone to the Golden Mile and Hercules project underscores the significance of this intercept: discovery of a gold resource at Brenbar would complement and enhance the economic potential of the Hercules project.

Anomalous gold mineralization was also intersected at Kodiak's Wildgoose project (0.3 metre grading 30.3 g/t gold (0.88 ounce per ton). Wildgoose is located south of the West Geraldton project, on a structural trend extending from the main Geraldton district. Additional work is planned for this area as well. Maps, all drill results and additional data from all three projects are posted on the company's website.

Kodiak's summer drill program initially focused on regional projects, in order to fully evaluate those projects before significant option payments had to be made. Now that the requisite regional drilling has been completed, drilling has focused on the Golden Mile and other vein structures at Hercules. Drilling currently under way on the Golden Mile includes deep drilling and wedge holes off previous deep holes, as well as drilling to test for shallower extensions of known gold mineralized shoots. Drilling will also occur on promising new veins discovered this year within the Golden Mile structural corridor. In order to accomplish all the planned drilling, the company will soon have three drill rigs turning, executing both the regional plan and completing delineation drilling at Hercules. The company expects to complete an additional 8,000 to 9,000 metres of drilling this fall.

Kodiak's quality assurance and quality control procedures are as follows: Kodiak channel samples are five centimetres wide, cut perpendicular to the strike of the vein and or shear zone from mapped alteration in the footwall, continuously through the vein and or shear zone and into mapped alteration in the hangingwall. Channels are cut with a motorized circular saw to a depth of 20 centimetres and removed with a hammer. Channel sample spacing is nominally every 20 metres along strike, dependent on outcrop size and geometry. Sample intervals are selected according to geologic contacts and visible mineralization, placed into a sample bag and shipped to the assay lab for quantitative analysis of select elements. Kodiak drill cores are split down the centre with a typical table feed circular rock saw. Drill cores are boxed, covered, and sealed at the drill rig and moved to the Kodiak logging and sample preparation facilities by Kodiak personnel. Kodiak angle core holes are directed perpendicular to the mapped dip of the vein, therefore reported drill hole intercepts approximate true thickness of the vein. All Kodiak samples are currently being assayed by Activation Laboratories Ltd., of Ancaster, Ont., and TSL Laboratories Inc., of Saskatoon, Sask. Blank and standard samples are routinely submitted with all sample batches sent to the lab for assay. Screened metallic assays are routinely run on all anomalous gold results as a check on nugget effects. Samples are routinely sent to other labs for additional checks.

The geological information for the Hercules project and the Beardmore-Geraldton regional exploration project has been reviewed and approved by Robert Hawkins, Kodiak's chief geologist, who is a qualified person under the definitions established by National Instrument 43-101.
