Due diligence is required for all investments and speculations.
REE is no exception. Do not be misled by statements such as "rare-earths-are-vital-and-china-owns-them-all."
Boys and girls, this is just another case of spinning the meaning of words. China does not own all the REEs. This is just like socks, shirts, and underwear. Nobody can compete with China in the global markets because of their cheap labor. Most companies have shut down their REE production, which leaves China with some of "the only remaining production", but not the only remaining source.
It doesn't matter whether we are heading into a global deflationary spiral, or stagflation. Prices on goods and real estate will likely deflate, but where are the increased wages? Where are the higher interest rates? This is not your granddad's depression. This is an entirely new global economic depression where the drivers for the past few decades are gone. There is a global oversupply of production and I don't care what the G20 does, they cannot resurrect the debt bubble.
The only things I see raising in price in the intermediate future are commodities.
Rant over.
