Tibber,
I agree with you in general. However... Because KXL has developed a pattern of taking many months between news releases, the expectation with each one is that it will be the "blockbuster". When it's not, there's an immediate sell-off, and then the sp decays for a few months until the next release is due, at which point we sometimes get a slight buildup in sp. This pattern is great for traders, but unfortunately I'm not a trader. I realize that ultimately, when (if) Kodiak moves to the next stage, these share price movements might all be irrelevant. I know much of the work now is fill-in drilling to define the resource, and therefore is more likely to produce results similar to previous ones than the motherlode. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing these results as they come in, rather than as a nearly undecipherable season's worth of drilling.
The alternative is for Kodiak to release results as they are received, and to keep the shareholders better informed in general. Not necessarily every hole result, or every dollar spent, but certainly there's enough going on to generate a monthly news release. If the market expects monthly releases, I doubt there would be so much selling off with each one. Less volatility might even bring in new long shareholders, rather than scaring them off. I don't think regular updates would diminish the impact of the announcement of the motherlode, or just the 43-101. If anything, regular updates would keep KXL in view.
As a shareholder, my preference is always for more communication rather than less.
