Why would KXL use 5.4 m at 20.03 gpt as a headline when in fact almost all the gold in that intersect was within a width of only 0.4 m(253 gpt). Within the accuracy of the numbers given basically all the gold in the 5.4 m intersect was within the 0.4 section and almost nothing within the remaining 5.0 meters.

Once I read that to be economic a vein had to contain 5 gpt over a width of 4 feet equivalent, meaning that 10 gpt over 2 feet also is good. The reason is that minimum mining width is about 4 feet. If it is wider it does not necessarily mean that it is economic at a lower grade since you still has to mine and process the ore.

I know that for resource calculations sometimes a very high grade(let us say 253 gpt) has to be lowered to make sure the estimates are sufficiently conservative. In that case maybe a 0.4 m 253 gpt would be lowered to 0.4 m ?? gpt.

I have seen similar reporting also previously (also by others). Is there anyone with insight into this issue and why KXL would use this as a headline when indeed it is sort of misleading?
