I never bought that an expensive suit either. In terms of equities you have to be careful. If I am not wrong, both TSE and DOW delist the dogs and replace them with new winning stocks so the comparison is not that simple. Further, companies merge, go banckrupt etc, and some also pay dividend so a general comparison between gold and equities would be difficult.
What I know is that all the super charged bankers and economists of the world hate to think that gold can compete with them.
Bigpoppa, I think Portee explained the expected high volume some time ago. We seem to be getting pretty heavy tax loss selling, but the great news is that the SP is increasing slightly and not decreasing. This to me indicates that people who sold more than a month ago(for tax loss) are getting back in and are outdoing the sellers. They must feel that the tax loss selling is not going to drive the price any lower so it is time to get back in.
