Good post, Dmaster. Funny how perspective changes everything. A wise (?) person stated that everything worth inventing had already been invented. I think that was in the first decade of the 20th century! From your/our perspective now, very little had been invented in 1940. I think that there will be a great recovery, though I don't know how long we will have to wait. I am positive on the future, though we need to look after some of the problems on the horizon which IMO stems from global overpopulation, as Beaver eluded to. Peak oil? maybe. Peak solar or wind energy? Peak geothermal? Peak nuclear? Can't see it. We humans are stupid in some ways, like fighting world wars, but we seem to eventually overcome adversity by trial, error and financially rewarding those with the best answers.

I think this market has yet to see capitulation, and I am kind of looking forward to it so we can get back on track. The new tax free savings plan will be a great boon to those who invest in these low markets as the tax man won't take a bite out of the profits to come.
