I will never pretend to fully understand this business of mineral exploration. Nor can I pretend to understand how to run a business that is the size of KXL.
I believe this is a good company with good potential in the Geraldton / Beardmore area. But instead of drilling a few holes to relatively shallow depths in numerous locations, I wish they would concentrate on one location and prove it out.
All the information about Archean or greenstone deposits states that the mineable resources are down deep (1 kilometre or more). The famous examples are Hemlo, Red Lake and Timmins. Goldcorp was deep, then they went deeper. Gold Eagle went deep and found the stuff. Even the 4.1 million ounces from the historic Geraldton mines was from those deep locations. The proof is in the ground!
So here is what I think KXL should do:
- drill the crap out of the Golden Mile,
- make a piss-pot load of cash by selling those claims,
- then move on to Knucklethumb, drill it out, make the cash and move on,
- and so on and so on.
The history says go deep. The latest drill holes say go deep.
I'm going to stop now because I'm starting to sound like a porno director. But I think I've made my point.
Take care KXLers.
